    Traum(a) deals with the topic of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The film focusses on a deeply traumatized young women, called Svetlana. As a child, Svetlana had to leave her home country with her family because of war. Bojan, her elder brother, died during this war. Her parents tried to suppress their feelings by moving to a different place. As a grown up young women Svetlana visits a disco with friends.

    During an excessive party she falls into a trauma typical flashback which leads into a psychotic episode. She’s desperately trying to leave her unpleasant past experiences behind. In mixed up episodes the viewer is able to puzzle out an important facet of Svetlanas past and is going to get a feeling of how persons in such a mental state perceive everyday life.
